Faces Of Bulgaria

As part of a course, I have at the American University in Bulgaria, I had to go out and take pictures of people. I walked around some cities in eastern Bulgaria and ended up with these pictures.

It is very hard to capture some portraits as I don’t speak their language and only a handful of people speak english. From the 46 faces I shot only 3 spoke English. It is sometimes frustrating to shoot picture of people if you don’t talk their language. Thanks to Google Translate I wrote down some useful sentences which helped me to convince most of the people!

Here are some of the shots!

Great photo project! I have never been to Bulgaria nor do I think I have ever met someone from Bulgaria, so I found this really interesting.

Wonderful project and post Seba! I am an “Americanized” Bulgarian who lives in New York and writes a blog about Bulgaria entitled “WithLoveFromBG”. I would love to chat with you about your experience in country (world travels as well) and write a piece on you and your project. In addition, I also write for Foundation Identity for Bulgaria and think that it would be super cool to share your travel experiences on there as well. Please let me know your thoughts on any or all of this.
